Company History

Interwood has  many years of valuable experience to exhibit. We make it our priority on a daily basis to always combine the vast knowledge we have acquired over the years, with the flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing markets.

1983

Interwood is founded. Operations begin with the import of timber from Sweden and Finland, two countries with a long tradition in the production of timber and wood products.

1989

Operations expand, including  imports fromNorth America. Also, at the same time the company expands its activities by importing industrial wood products.

1991

Interwood partners expand via collaboration with production units in the Czech Republic as well as Slovakia.

1995

Imports expand to include timber and wood products from Africa and East Asia.

1998

Completion of new warehouse facilities; expansion of sales network toNorthern Greece.

1999

Interwood strikes a deal for the sole distribution of Russian timber in Greece and Cyprus through the exclusive representation of established brands in Russia. This leads to a considerable expansion of the product selection that Interwood offers.

1999

Buy-out of ELSCAN  S.A., the largest representative of foreign timber exporters and producers. During the same year, KATAKOUZINOS S.A, a respectable timber merchant, is also acquired.

2004

Operations officially begin in the new warehouse facilities,4 acresof sheltered premises in a total area of 73,000  m2 of private owned property land inNorthern Greece.

2006

Interwood becomes the main shareholder of the listed company XYLEMBORIA ATENE.

2008

Expansion of the product selection to new products, including:

 

2009

Merging of Interwood with Xylemboria is accomplished.

 

 

2011-2012

Interwood-Xylemboria acquires the total of ELTOP SA  shares.
